The Line by Digital Dictator
--- ----

I'm standing in an infinite line
I must have died
I see a bright, white light in the distance
Millions of souls stand before me

I've been in line for minutes now
        Am I going to heaven?
I didn't live the life of the just
I wouldn't have thought it possible
        That I could gain
        Eternal reward
I've been in line for hours now
        I can hardly wait
I wonder what it'll be like?
I wish I'd paid more attention in life
Maybe then I'd know a little better
        What to expect
I've been in line for days now
        The line moves as slowly
As frozen molasses through a sieve
I wish they would hurry up
        The suspense, the suspense
        Is killing me
I've been in line for weeks now
I wonder how long this takes
        I shouldn't complain
With the numbers they must have to process
        I'm amazed the line moves
        At all
I've been in line for months now
        I'm starting to wonder
        I noticed something today
Even though the line keeps moving
        The white light never gets
        Any closer
I've been in line for years now
I'm starting to have my doubts
        I don't know where I am
Or what is happening to me
But I don't think I'me ever going to get
        To the light

I've been in line for eons now
        I finally know

        This isn't heaven after all
